Has it really been that long?

hey all,
it's been a little while since we've posted anything. We're working feverishly on some new new songs and recording our evergrowing list of tunes for ya. Since we don't have more full recordings done quite yet, here's a song that i wrote and recorded last summer. I just found this file again and might do something with the song... some changes are due though.

Show Tonight. No, you shut up.

No, you shut up.
I just wanted to say that. To no one in particular. We have a show tonight at the Mercury Cafe. Which is sweet. Hopefully it'll work out. We've been having some particularly tight rehearsals lately. I'm excited to show it to all who show up. It's free...so yeah. Be there. Or I'll sacrifice a chicken.
And that picture is what popped up on google images when I typed in "No, You Shut Up".

What What.... mixtape

So, I've had this ever expanding dilemma that leaves me with only one eventual answer; I: When rappers are out of songs they can write, they can make a mixtape. II: These mixtapes can relaunch careers for fading artists, or, III: bring to the public some great underground music. IV: These mixtapes sell, and people buy them, wasting shit tons of money. V: These mixtapes make the so called "artist" some of that residual. VI: I like music. VII: I like mixtapes. VIII: I'm gonna make my own mixtape as seen in points I-V. IX: I think music is FREE. X: Point IX makes the reference to points IV and V in Point VIII moot. XI: I don't want money out of this, but that good, cause, XII: I'm not getting any. XIII: If I post it, will they listen? XIV: Probably more likely to with a bad ass rapper name. XV: I made up a bad ass rapper name and, XVI: this awesome mixtape

The Sun Can't Stay Up All Night Long

I wrote a new song yesterday...it's becoming daunting to look at our list of songs we have yet to record. It's looking more and more like we are going to have to release two separate albums because of the amount of material we have. I wonder though, would fans prefer to hear a double disk? Or two separate albums?
Anyways, I'll post the demo version of that new song sometime soon when I learn how to do it. I'm computer illiterate so......yeah. I've been listenting to this band called Eluvium a lot recently...they are sooo cool. Check em out. Especially this album...sweeet.

Happy... superbowl....day?? B-Siyyeeeede

Hope you're sitting lazily like us, watching something far less important than it really is. Even the commercials are overrated.. whateva.
We have a gift for yoooou. It's a bside of one of our newer tracks, "Lonely Metropolitan". I think this was recorded at least 3 or 4 months ago when we first started playing it. The recording is just Peter, Eliza and a guitbox. A little raw, but neat.

Hope you enjoy it.

Pop my bloggin cherry

Hello,
I wanted to post a blog because i have never posted on here before. Its that simple. I hope everyone has heard the new stuff we posted and seen the new shows we lined up including the hi dive. I spent tonight getting covered in feathers while shooting a music video for Ukulele Loki. It was a sweet ass time. I looked a lot like a member of the Polyphonic Spree in a giant white robe. Anyways, there is a chance we might shoot a video sometime soon, so look out for that possibility. Also, if anyone reads this... what song would you like to see a video for?

Recording Process...Day ?

Well, we have a completely mastered version of the Gift pt. 2 available for free listen on our MySpace page. We are nearly finished recording one of newer songs entitled "Untitled". I don't think we'll keep the name. I'm considering calling it something along the lines of "Lonely Metropolitan", inspired by the photo of the same name taken by Herbert Bayer in 1932. It's quite something. And it seems to hold a certain place in my mind over the last few weeks. When Untitled/Lonely Metropolitan is finished, we will certainly post it on the MySpace. Also, keep checking this blog...it's possible that we'll throw some B-sides or alternate versions of new songs just for the die hards. Keep us in your thoughts....

dick tation

Greetings. Hope the new year started off well with everyone. Four members got together today and played for the first time since last year. it was pretty epic. lots of groovin sounds that we hadn't made yet. we're trying to map out the next month or two and get things rolling again with recording and/or shows... it's all in the works and both are just as important for us.
since we don't have current recordings to show some progress, i thought i'd share a song of my own. It's a little experimental and noisy, but what else are computers for? eh? Current title for it is, "Thank God You're Here (Grandma Just Got Raped)".
